About Me

Dave Payne, LPCC (he/him)

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Individual Counseling

I know from my own personal experiences what it feels like to live with depression, anxiety, and ADHD.  While that doesn’t mean I know exactly what you’re going through, it does mean I can help you find realistic, down-to-earth solutions to coping with these conditions in your own life. In the same way that counseling has helped me find more effective ways to deal with tough thoughts and feelings, I’m confident counseling can help you find happiness in spite of the challenges you may be dealing with.

Couples Counseling

I began providing couples counseling in 2013 because I value my own relationship and want to help others get the most out of their relationships as well. Over the years since then, it has become clear to me that couples need more than simply a refresher on clear communication skills. Partners need to be taught how to communicate in the heat of the moment, when they’re not necessarily very calm and collected, when they’re both feeling hurt and unheard. I pursued formal training in Emotionally Focused Therapy in order to learn how to teach couples this deeper aspect of communication that they don’t get with typical couples therapy.

Feel free to ask questions if there is anything else you’d like to know.
